Benedetto Global is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant Engineer for a subsea and pipelines opportunity with an international energy consultancy. This role suits an engineer who enjoys leading technical work, guiding project teams and developing practical solutions for complex offshore energy projects.
The role
You will lead subsea engineering scopes from early studies through design and delivery. Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical direction, manage client deliverables and support the development of other engineers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading subsea and pipeline engineering projects in line with applicable codes and standards.
- Directing design work involving pipelines, risers, subsea systems and transmission infrastructure.
- Reviewing calculations, analysis models, specifications, study reports and presentations.
- Managing pipeline integrity, fitness-for-service, life extension and operational support scopes.
- Coordinating technical interfaces with flow assurance, process engineering, safety and risk teams.
- Contributing to proposals, project planning and the development of engineering tools.
- Mentoring engineers and providing clear feedback on technical work and delivery.
About you
You will bring:
- At least 12 years’ relevant industry experience, including extensive subsea engineering experience in upstream oil and gas.
- A BEng, MEng or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering engineering work within a consultancy.
- Knowledge of pipelines, risers and subsea systems, including infrastructure for hydrocarbons, power, CO₂ or hydrogen.
- Experience in pipeline integrity assessment or operational support.
- Strong technical leadership, project management and communication skills.
Chartered status, or progress towards it, is preferred. Offshore experience and certification would be beneficial but are not essential.
