Overview
Benedetto Global is recruiting on behalf of an established Offshore Drilling Contractor supporting major International Oil Companies (IOCs). We are seeking an experienced Rig Mechanic to join offshore jack-up drilling operations, supporting the safe and efficient maintenance of critical mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems onboard.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled offshore mechanical professional to work within a high-performance drilling environment where safety, reliability, and operational excellence are paramount.
Role Description
Reporting directly to the Chief Mechanic, the Rig Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining all mechanical and hydraulic systems to ensure continuous operation of drilling, marine, accommodation, and auxiliary services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the safe and efficient operation of the vessel’s mechanical systems, power plant, and associated equipment
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with company procedures, legislative regulations, and class requirements
- Conduct all work under approved Permit to Work systems, supported by risk assessments and toolbox talks
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Mechanic to plan maintenance schedules and minimise downtime due to equipment failure
- Maintain adequate onboard stock levels of spare parts, tools, and consumables to support uninterrupted operations
- Participate in a multi-disciplinary maintenance team, supporting wider operational needs as required
- Promote and uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance onboard
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance and repair
- At least 2 years’ hands-on experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Accredited technical or trade school qualification (Mechanical discipline preferred)
- Previous offshore drilling or jack-up rig experience preferred
- Valid offshore survival and medical certification
- BOSIET / HUET / SAS
- Seaman’s Book
- Covid Vaccination Certificate
- Strong understanding of offshore safety procedures and maintenance systems
