Benedetto Global is recruiting on behalf of a leading offshore drilling contractor for an experienced Senior Toolpusher to join their offshore drilling operations in Angola.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced drilling professional with strong leadership and supervisory capabilities to oversee drilling operations and lead offshore drilling crews while maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
As Senior Toolpusher, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising and coordinating all drilling activities onboard the offshore drilling rig.
- Ensuring drilling operations are carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with the approved drilling programme.
- Leading and supervising drilling personnel while maintaining high standards of operational discipline.
- Working closely with the Offshore Installation Manager, Driller and other senior offshore personnel.
- Monitoring drilling performance and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensuring drilling equipment and systems are properly maintained, tested and fit for purpose.
- Supporting well control operations and maintaining a strong safety culture across the drilling department.
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures, client requirements and applicable industry regulations.
- Participating in emergency response activities and maintaining operational readiness.
- Providing accurate operational reports and ensuring effective communication between offshore and onshore teams.
- Supporting the development and mentoring of drilling personnel.
- Promoting continuous improvement across drilling operations.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- A minimum of 10 years’ offshore drilling experience, with significant experience in senior drilling supervisory positions.
- Previous experience as a Senior Toolpusher or Toolpusher on an offshore drilling rig.
- Extensive experience working on Jack-up, Semi-submersible or other offshore drilling units.
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, well control and offshore rig procedures.
- Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control certification.
- Valid STCW certification.
- Valid Offshore Survival Certificate.
- Valid Offshore Medical Certificate.
- Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding offshore environment and with multinational teams.
- Previous experience in Angola or the wider West African offshore market would be advantageous.
